Vapor phase state-of-the art manufacturing methods are employed to realize products which can withstand high heat flux conditions and retain mechanical strength to perform under extreme environments. Functional coatings can be provided to enhance capabilities and reliability of the end products.

Payload

Supporting structures with high dimensional stability at large temperature variations, which can suppress the high vibration during launch are designed and realized for space optical payloads. An extensive network of manufacturing and testing facilities with appropriate design methodologies at APL drives to develop these structures.

APL is committed to perform the unprecedented design requirements for realizing the state-of-the-art unfurling and rotating reflector incorporating the benefits of composites. The composite structure is employed to meet the stringent mass requirement of the bigger satellite structure without compensating with the imperative accuracy to function in the microgravity of space environment.

APL proposes to utilize the benefits of composite products to develop various class of Unmanned vehicles like unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), unmanned surface vehicle (USV), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and so on for various applications in industry, energy, research, defense and other sectors. Composite based products are employed to arrive at optimistic aerodynamic design for the manufacturing of the unmanned vehicle. APL's design and engineering work together for design-optimization of the unmanned vehicle and manufacturing of monolithic and component-level mass production feasibility. The advanced in-house capabilities in air vehicle and mission system design and production are compounded with our partner’s capabilities in communications, sensors and other payloads, simulation systems, integration and program management capabilities to provide cutting-edge, cost-effective turnkey UAS solutions for our customers. APL designs, qualifies and manufactures high-performance structural and non-structural aerospace composite products for aviation applications. The strength or durability of the products are achieved by appropriate manufacturing methods to realize complex shapes. APL proposes to utilise a fully flexible production capability to meet customers unique requirements, including one-off problem solving, bespoke projects or volume manufacturing. The design, development and testing capabilities allow for new techniques and concepts to be created and fully tested to ensure that the products meet the highest quality standards.

APL proposes to lead the adoption of composite materials in serial automotive for structural and bodywork applications, through differentiated material solutions. The manufacturing methods are driven to support the drive for lightweight, cost-effective, multi-materials vehicle solutions to meet the needs of the automotive OEMS for high volume manufacture. APL proposes to adopt policies where the portfolio of materials is refined and process technologies are tailored to automotive applications to enable volume ramp up, robustness and scalability. The application engineering capabilities combine expertise in materials, technologies and processes to meet the customers’ needs.
